Academic writing often seems to be a language of its own. On top of having to ensure proper page formatting and citation style, scholarly writing relies on a set of skills that work to develop and support ideas in an academically sound way. This goes beyond having professional sounding sentences! You may be returning to school after time off, or perhaps you have been back for a while but still feel out of step with your writing.
