Well, 2015 will now depart and 2016 will arrive several hours from now.

When 2015 started, I promised myself this: that I will publish lots of scientific papers. How many? I didn’t give myself a target; I just promised that I’ll push myself to the limits. I did publish seven (7) of them. These are all open access papers so you don’t have to worry finding them online. Here’s the list:

1. The sustainability of on campus residence: a utilization of ecological footprinting in a state university in Mindanao, Philippines

2. Gender and Educational Influences of Job Mismatch: The Case of Forestry and Environmental Science Graduates of a Philippine State University

3. The value of flood risk reduction in selected communities near the Pulangui River in Bukidnon, Philippines

4. Selecting Globally Accepted but Locally Available Sustainable Development Indicators Pursuant to Philippine National Development Priorities

5. Estimating Methane Gas Emissions from Solid Waste Generated by Households in an Urban Village in Bukidnon, Philippines

6. A proposed local sustainable development index: An application to cities of Davao Region, Philippines

7. Reducing our Ecological Footprint: Developing Sustainability Scenarios for the College of Forestry and Environmental Science,Central Mindanao University, Philippines

Seven publications in a year, that’s one scientific article in every two months (or less). I probably won’t be able to replicate this feat in the years to come so that’s why I’m posting this as a reminder that if you permit yourself to push outside your physical and mental boundaries, you’ll achieve something good if not great.
