A Dream about the Greatest Swordsman in Japan

This swordsman did not limit the fight to the actual face-to-face duel with his opponent. Instead, he carefully planned an extended battle. He added two elements to what any other person considered a legitimate part of the battle.

Before he crossed swords with an opponent, the greatest swordsman created a big problem in his opponent's life. And, the swordsman also planned a small problem to bring against his opponent during the actual battle.

He added both a big problem prior to and a small problem during the battle.

All the other swordsmen feared him.

Dream interpretation: The greatest swordsman in Japan is the devil. This dream was very interesting to me. Most Christians, and even some New Agers, are aware of the first part. We know that before God's plan arrives, the devil inserts a fake. This is one version of the "big problem." For example, God has a job for you. But, the devil knows when it is about to arrive. He sees you have been prepared. So, he offers you the wrong job.
For a scientist, for example, who will develop a cure for cancer, the devil will attempt to persuade him or her to go into law or engineering, not biology. The devil will create a large need, a drastic experience... something that would drive many people into the wrong field, compelled by emotions. Once the scientist makes it through college and experience and has the opportunity to develop the cure, the devil will hit him or her with a small problem. Maybe drugs, maybe financial trouble, maybe relationship issues. But, he will add a distraction to the real battle: developing the cure.

The sword fight is a battle in your mind between what you feel in your heart, and the lies the devil is telling you. It is a contest between believing the words of the Holy Spirit and the words of the enemy. It is a battle between what you can see (the devil's works) and what you know (the Word.)

The devil cheats. Be forewarned.

Update (May 19, 2014) Just a few days after I posted the above message, it exactly happened to me. The first attack was an attack on my sleep. The second attack was an Internet outage. The battle was a final exam in Dynamics.

I'm working on a Master's degree in structural engineering. My final exam was due yesterday. I had 6 hours to download it and finish it. Then, I needed to scan and upload it. The night before the exam, my brother-in-law did one of his all-night stress-outs in the kitchen. This room borders the room where my wife and I sleep. Dragging stool, banging pot, and sneeze of thunder were a few of the loud noises that woke me periodically all through the night. I was able only to sleep 15 to 20 minutes at a time. He literally woke me something like 15 times in one night.

So, in the morning, I woke up, logged on, checked my email, and went for a shower.  I came back, and the Internet was out. So, I had to call a taxi to take me to City Center (I live in Kiev.) So, I went downtown, walked through the tent city of the Euromaidan protest, had breakfast with my wife, and downloaded the exam using the restaurant's wi-fi.

I did finish the exam in 6 hours. But, this was a blessing. One problem, I did not know how to solve at all. But, I prayed. Suddenly, I flipped a page and found an example problem nearly identical to the exam problem. And, like that, I was finished.

God warned me in advance of what the enemy was planning. It required a tougher effort on my part. But, I am pleased to have this experience about Jehovah Jirah (the God who sees [our needs]) to share with you. Our God is good. He knows our needs even before we know them ourselves. He provides what we need. If I had prayed more about this, it is possible the Holy Spirit would have led me to pray against exactly the things that were approaching.

PS- I am not sure of the relevance of the Japan element. However, since I got saved -before, even- one of the strongest demons that has opposed me has been one which first appeared to me in a dream while stationed on the island of Okinawa. I called him "the Mighty Samurai." This figure appeared several times until I confirmed what I knew in the spirit. He could not be trusted.
