Just last week I started this “Journey to Fitness” together with my officemates and break time buddies, Dennis and Mizpah.
We started this trip because we have been sedentary for a long period of time and we gained enormous weight.
Our routine was walking from our office in Mckinley Hills Taguig to Bonifacio Global City [Market! Market!],
more or less 30 minutes’ walk and since we are on night shift, we are walking with morning mist, fresh air and warm sun.
According to studies walking can improve health and fitness. Walking can help you lose body fat and maintain a healthy weight.
Walking 30 minutes a day is enough for a good health.
You do not need to walk 30 minutes straight, unless you want to lose weight.
Walking at 2 mph (3.21 kph), a relatively slow pace, burns about 26 calories per 10 minutes.
In 30 minutes the benefits increase and the average person burns about 79 calories.
Walking at least 30 minutes is considered better than taking three ten minute walks a day because greater time means elevating one’s heart rate.
As one’s heart rate increases, more calories are consumed.

· Prevents heart disease, stroke, cancer, sleep apnea, and osteoarthritis.

Most fitness experts recommend beginning a walking program slowly, and further, most say it helps to use a pedometer to measure speed and distance. No matter how hard it will be, we pledged to continue our journey and build ability to walk very quickly (or run!)to increase calorie burn ‘til we reach our goal and that is : to be fab and fit.

Lets walk and burn calories while enjoying the scenery and the sun ! Add to it that some places can only be appreciated on foot.
