The Author of a Dream Intends to Communicate

When a dream plays out on the mental landscape, the intention to communicate must be understood. A dream is like a letter.

Whether the dream originated from friend or foe is not the topic of this post. That dreams originate from both beneficial and detrimental sources as well as neutral sources must be remembered at all times. In general, trust your heart (aka "intuition") before your mind.

Now, the meat of this post: Assume the meaning of the unknown symbol is the one known to you; has the obvious meaning available in the first place you would look; or, will become known to you before the meaning of the dream becomes important.

Symbols may be already Known to You

Because the dream is authored, scripted, designed and choreographed to communicate a message to you, the dream artist will use symbols according to the way you will understand them.

For example, to a Jew or Christian, leavened bread represents tainted theology and/or faulty doctrine. And, unleavened bread represents both right belief and the exodus of the Hebrew people out of Egypt. However, unleavened bread, which is flat because it lacks the leaven to cause it to rise, could represent poverty to someone who ate flat bread for a time because leaven (yeast) could not be afforded.

So, if an angel is sending a message to a seeker of God, leavened bread represents false religious teachings. So, to convey a warning about a bad teacher, the angel could send a dream of said teacher distributing leavened bread to the people in the pews.

However, in the second example of the poor person, the leavened bread could represent a time of prosperity. The same angel would use the symbol of leavened bread to convey a promise of improved finances at a later time. And, the recipient would understand the dream to mean exactly that.

Your Mind Creates Some Symbols from Experience

During the night, a cognizant, sentient component of the person departs from the body and enters into a spiritual realm. Here, a spiritual experience transpires. However, the things of the spirit are not readily comprehended by the corporeal mind. So, the mind translates spiritual events into familiar physical 'closest equivalents'. Examples:

Spiritual transition from one location to another is "remembered" or recalled in the morning as "flying". Another common translation of spiritual event to physical close equivalent is the moment of transition from this 'dimension' to the spiritual 'dimension'. The mind translates this crossing from the physical to the spiritual as diving into water, or otherwise crossing through or penetrating a wall of water.

This barrier also occurs in dreams as a river in the sky. Some folk tales talk about a river which is crossed in order to enter into the spiritual dimension. In Christianity, it is said we will "cross over the River Jordan".

So, some symbolism is assigned by the mind at the time of recall. Other symbols are assigned by the author/artist of the dream. However, the symbol most likely can be interpreted according to the meaning you would give instantaneously.

Dream Symbols from the First Place You Would Look

Sometimes, a dream conveys knowledge completely unknown to you. However, the author/artist will use symbolism from a resource you are likely to consult. For example, If you read the Bible, he will use biblical symbols, even if they are unknown to you.

Psychologists also have shown that dreams often convey messages using symbols known to the family, but not to the specific person receiving the dream. These are often religious symbols from Buddhism, Hinduism or other symbol-rich and god-extensive pagan religious systems. It is important to note that these systems are actually thinly-disguised demon worship and any dreams containing such symbols involve demonic activity. The entire dream message could be disinformation intended to mislead you. Be very, very cautious. Again, remember that your heart can immediately discern the nature of a dream, whether it be "good" or "bad".

(Note: I have received negative feedback on the above paragraph. However, I am teaching you from my personal experience. This is not something someone else taught me, nor is it an unfounded bias.)

The reception of a demonic dream, a dream sent from demons, does NOT make any statement about the heart of the person who receives the dream. Do not refuse to consider that a dream can be of evil origin because some incompetent told you that "holy" people never hear from the devil. Hogwash! God Himself talks with Satan in the story of Job. The devil and God talk about Job's faithfulness. We are not better than God.
